STEM COI: BGCA-My. Future

My.Future provides members with a safe, fun digital platform to showcase their work and earn recognition through stars, badges, and master badges. It’s a space where kids can interact with each other – free from the prospect of cyberbullying. Try it out in the COI, at home, or both! Youth do need an account. Go to Myfuture.net and create an account for Kirtland AFB Youth Programs.

Academic Success- Project Learn: Power Hour

Making Minutes Count for Academic Success helps Club members ages 9-18 achieve academic success by providing homework time, help tutoring, high-yield learning activities, and encouraging members to become self-directed learners.

BGCA Triple Play: Purple Up Bootcamp

Join us for a fun and exciting boot camp all month long. We will learn just what our military men and women go through in basic training. There will be endurance challenges and strength training.

We will talk about what it means to be an individual. We will define the concept of self-esteem as youth discover their superhero powers. In the activity, youth will write a: I am Poem- expressing who they are.

Month of the Military Child: Purple Up Tees & Hats

Get ready to celebrate yourself while making your own Purple Up Tee or hat. Youth will explore technology with Cricut through design, cut, and transfer. Youth will choose mediums for their shirts or hats, such as puffy paints, vinyl, transfer sheets, and permanent markers. Wear your Purple gear on 15 Apr!

National Crafting Month: 4H Dude it up Denim

Youth will have the opportunity to create a Dude it Up Denim jean pocket, which they can turn into a pocket magnet, bookmark, pocket frame, or pocket purse. Youth will use a variety of mediums to create that one-of-a-kind piece of art/fashion.

Character & Leadership: Vision Writing

As we focus on The Month of the Military Child, youth will be writing their personal vision boards this month. They will be encouraged to document the past, present, and future visions they have for themselves.

Fine Arts: 4H The Art of the Chocolatier

This week youth will be exploring the Chocolate tier. We will be practicing the basics of making chocolates for our Chocolate business next month.

Month of the Military Child: What is an MRE?

In this activity, youth will explore the nutritional value of the MRE. Youth will explore the amount of protein, carbohydrates, fiber, and sodium content. Youth will have a chance to taste test a MRE also.

Youth will have the opportunity to design their own dog tag. They may emboss the tag or use any medium they would like to use. The dog tags represent their service to our country as they serve along with their parents.

4H Team Building: Blanket Challenge

4H Healthy Living: Water Drinking Challenge

Now that you've made your own water bottle with us, do you know how much you should drink daily? In this activity, we will learn about healthy living and water consumption goals. Youth will create their own goal sheet and keep track of their water intake.

STEAM: LED Name Plates & Etch Arts

Youth will create their own light-up nameplates in this STEAM activity. In this activity youth will learn about optics, circuits, and art. Youth will start with a blank piece of acrylic and slowly etch their name/design on it.

4H Healthy Living: Plants & Planter Art

This week, youth will be planting a variety of seeds in the planters. They have added an artistic touch, too. Youth will be responsible for helping their seeds blossom and responsible for caring for their living plants.

4H Character & Leadership-Team Building: Plank Walk

The Arts: Stepping Stones

Youth will be designing a unique stepping stone for our front area outside. The youth will mix the cement and place the stones or marbles to add a little sparkle.

4H STEAM: Candle Making

You are going to love the hands-on nature of candle making. Youth will see the transformation of the solid wax into a liquid and mix and match different fragrances and colors. Then, pour the hot wax into the container or mold.

BGCA CHARACTER & LEADERSHIP: Responsibilities of Membership

Open Recreation Membership is proof of belonging to something special. With Club membership comes privileges, responsibilities, and rules everyone must follow, just as with U.S. citizenship. Give your input to the rules of your club.

Triple Play: Capture the Flag

Capture the Flag is a traditional sport where two or more teams each have a flag, and the objective is to capture the other team's flag, located at the team's "base." (Or hidden or even buried somewhere in the territory) and bring it safely back to their own base.
