Feeling inspired? Looking to start a new hobby? The Arts & Crafts Center is available to assist you on your adventure into your creative nature exploration! From daily pick and paint pottery projects, to monthly painting classes and private lessons, Arts & Crafts has something for everyone. Looking for some professional work? We can help with that too! Our on staff professional engraver and framer will make those special memories and recognition look extraordinary!

This class is specifically for those who want to make something special for a loved one for Christmas.  We are featuring a ceramic mug that you can customize!  We make the stencil for you, and we help you glaze it. Ever been to a DIY pottery glazing studio?  Do you remember what you paid for it?  We offer the same thing but at a fraction of the price!  Do some ceramics glazing in our new pottery studio during the evening time–Come in early (4 pm) or as late as 6:15!  Please allow 45 minutes to one hour to glaze your item (the shop will close at 7 pm). If you don’t finish your piece (or can’t stay to glaze), we can always make up a “to-go” kit!

Our professional framing facility is ready to assist with all your framing needs. Our custom shop has state-of-the-art standard and computerized mat cutters, pneumatic jointers, wall-mounted glass cutters, and a dry mounting press. Supplies include the finest quality frames, a vast selection of archival mat boards, and premium glass. From shadow boxes to cross stitching and everything in between, our expert staff can turn your work into a piece of art you’ll be proud to display. This is accordion content!

Let our professional staff custom design a special award or farewell gift just for you or your organization. Make our Engraving Shop your source for plaques, name tags, desk sets, and all forms of awards and farewell presentations. Ask about our beautiful wood, glass and acrylic plaques we have in stock for laser engraving. Have a custom logo you would like to include on your work? No problem! Bring us your example, we may already have it in our system! We also welcome you to bring in your own items for engraving as well to add your own personal touch.

R4R Eligibility

Recharge for Resiliency (R4R) is an Air Force-wide program designed to connect airmen and their families with people of similar interests through fun and challenging programs. R4R encompasses the following key resiliency components: the Single Airman Programming (SAP), RecOn and Deployed Affected Programming (previously R4R). These resiliency programs target specific audiences and provide needed support for our Airmen and their families.

Single Airman Program (SAP)
This program provides resources that foster a strong culture, mission and sense of community among Airmen stationed at Kirtland on unaccompanied orders, regardless of rank or marital status. This program offers free or heavily discounted events to anyone with unaccompanied orders here at Kirtland.

*Open to single airmen (unmarried) Air Force Active Duty members and one guest

Recon
This program provides resources for outdoor-centric, high adrenaline, post deployment stress reduction, only available through FSS Outdoor Recreation Centers. This program offers free or heavily discounted events to active duty members stationed here at Kirtland and their dependents are eligible. Examples of RecOn events in the past have been White Water Rafting, Skydiving, Rock Climbing, and more!

*Open to Air Force Active Duty, Reservists and their immediate family members.

Deployed Affected Program (DAP)
This program is for the family of a deployed service member. The deployed service member and their families may also attend the event up to a year after their return! This program offers heavily discounted events to those affected by deployment.

*Deployment orders required. (4 months prior to deployment & up to one year following deployment. Open to spouse plus one guest while member is deployed.)

Host a Unite Event @ Arts & Crafts

  • Unite Program empowers unit commanders to plan recreational and cohesive activities to strengthen the squadron.
  • Assigned personnel includes Active Duty, APF/GS and NAF Civilians.
  • Unit CC and CL can designate in writing a POC to plan programs for cohesion and team building on CCs behalf, see POC Letter for more information.
