Full Moon Snowshoe Hike
Join us for an exciting adventure at Kirtland Air Force Base’s Outdoor Recreation program!
Glistening snow, a chill in the air and the crunch of snow under your feet, this is what you have to look forward to as we kick off the programs for the year. This outing is perfect for those who’ve never tried snowshoeing as well as those who are longtime enthusiasts. The leaders will cover techniques to help you safely traverse in an alpine environment while exploring the beautiful Sandia Mountains.
This hike is rated as moderate and is approximately 4.0 miles round trip with 150 feet of elevation gain.
We’ll depart from the Sandia Crest parking lot and proceed along the crest for views all the way to the continental divide.
Reserve early to get fitted with shoes and receive recommended clothing/gear list. Snow pants and boots may be rented from ODR for an additional charge. Includes transportation, snowshoes, trekking poles and mountain guide.
